ABOUT ANDASPAIN
We have been in Spain and on the Camino for more years than we care to count, and we would not have it any other way.
We know that walking long distances in foreign lands can be a big undertaking, and our mission is to clear the path ahead for you. We organize every last detail to ensure you can be free to ponder mysteries other than where to spend the night or how to read the menu. From the practical (like what is the best way to lace up your boots) to the curious (what the heck is a gypsy’s arm and why is it on my dessert menu?), we have an answer.
We move mountains so long as they are metaphorical.
Every day walking along the Camino de Santiago is a new adventure no matter the circumstance, and we would like nothing more than to share it with you.

WHY WALK THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO WITH ANDASPAIN?
ALL THAT MAKES US TRULY SPECIAL
01. WE LOVE THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO!
That’s why we specialize in helping people walk the Camino. There are many other paths to take but all our team fell in love with the spirit of the Camino and we enjoy nothing more than sharing that.
02. WE WANT THE CAMINO TO BE INCLUSIVE.
Some people want to walk less, more, faster, slower, stay in simple or fancy accommodation, rest, drink wine, take photos, meet other pilgrims, have a life changing experience. Whoever you are and however you want to walk the Camino, we want to enable you to do it your way. No judgments, no one has a better Way. It is everybody’s Way.
03. WE TAKE CARE OF OUR PILGRIMS.
We have walked the Camino many times and we understand what you need to make this an unforgettable experience. You don´t need to worry about logistics, bags, food because we take care of that. You just walk the Camino and soak up the journey each day.
04. WE WANT TO SHARE THE BEST STUFF ON THE CAMINO.
Over the years we have gotten to know the best places, people, food, wine and other delights the Camino has to offer. We want to share those with you.
MEET YOUR CAMINO DE SANTIAGO GUIDES
Your experience with Andaspain will always include the attention of one of the owners. From the first contact or to the last glass raised, we will be there alongside you as you walk the Camino de Santiago.
KATE GOAD
FOUNDER
Kate´s love of walking started in the mountains of the Lake District near her home in Lancaster, England. She graduated from Manchester University and spent several years teaching adults with learning difficulties and managing international exchange projects. She has since travelled, worked and walked all over the world but in 2005 set up home in the mountains of Asturias in Northern Spain, where she can combine her passion for walking in the nearby Picos de Europa with exploring the trails of Europe. She first walked the Camino Francés in 2006 and has since shared her enthusiasm for the Camino with many groups of pilgrims from all over the world. She added two little pilgrims to the family in 2011 and 2013 and is, for the moment, based in our Spanish office. She will be your main point of contact from booking your tour to meeting your guides.
Borja Balenciaja
CAMINO GUIDE
Borja normally resides in the Canary Islands and he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and a Master Degree in Polymers and Nanoparticles. After his studies, Borja worked as a water analysis laboratory technical director; while also working as a hiking guide and diving guide – combining his job with his passions: traveling, discovering and learning. In 2017, he decided to devote all of his focus to guiding. Borja is passionate about the Camino, and it is one of the main reasons he decided to combine both activities during the year: hiking and diving.

ALEX PORRAS
CAMINO GUIDE
Alex was born in Barcelona, Spain. As a kid he loved travelling and spending time in nature with his family. Eventually, Alex turned his passion into a career and guiding trips became his profession. When Alex is not walking on the Camino de Santiago, he can be found guiding wildlife safaris in East Africa and polar experiences around Laponia in Finland. Alex believes by travelling we can discover our beautiful planet, but that the best way for knowing anywhere is by using our feet.
MALINA FOCSANEANU
CAMINO GUIDE
Malina was born and raised in Romania. From a young age she developed a close relationship with nature through her father while exploring local hiking trails and camping in the mountains. Malina moved to Denmark to study nature’s influence on child development. After her studies she discovered the Camino de Santiago whilst living in London. After an amazing walking experience on the Way, Malina decided to move to Santiago de Compostela to follow her passion. She soon fell in love with the region, the local gastronomy and Galicia’s nature. Malina loves walking with our pilgrims on the Camino and sharing her passion and knowledge.
Jorge Granda Aguado
CAMINO GUIDE
Jorge was born and raised in Asturias. Here, he found his passion for the mountains and the sea. Jorge has a Bachelors Degree in Marine Science and is a trained sports technician. In 2006, he began working as a professional hiking guide. When Jorge is not working as a guide, you can find him hiking on his own, underwater fishing, rock climbing, skiing, cycling and cooking when he feels he wants to slow down! Jorge believes that a fundamental pillar when exploring this beautiful earth is to leave no trace behind and to be part of the graceful elements amongst nature. Outside of the Camino season, Jorge spends his time spear fishing in Northern Spain.
